HIKING
If nature is your ultimate escape, you'll enjoy hiking plentiful trails of the region.
The Finger Lakes Trail is 559 miles of wilderness foot trails across New York State. The Finger Lakes National Forest offers over 30 miles of trails. State parks in the area also offer walking trails as do local nature centers and county parks.

BIKING
With wide, paved shoulders, Bike Route 17 follows scenic rural roads through numerous small towns. It's part of a 435-mile route across New York State from the Hudson River to Lake Erie. Call toll-free 866-946-3386 for a Bike Route 17 map.
Biking around Keuka Lake or Seneca Lake makes a wonderful ride through beautiful scenery. Paved shoulders regularly accommodate bikers, although these roadways are not state-designated bike routes. Keuka Lake is 19 miles long and Seneca Lake is 38 miles long, so allow plenty of time to bike around each lake.
